Preserving Appalachian Heritage Crops for over 25 years
Appalachian Heirloom Plant Farm is a farm based seed conservancy located in the gently rolling hills of Adams County in south central Ohio along the northwestern Appalachian plateau and is owned by Tony and Mary West. We are dedicated to the preservation, education and use of heritage food crops from the Appalachian region. This region has a wealth of genetically diverse food crops not seen elsewhere. There are literally hundreds of unique family varieties of tomatoes, beans, corn and other crops that have been passed down thru the generations. We are not a large operation. We are a genetic resource for plant breeders, historians and hobbyist. We are dedicated to the preservation and purity of genetically unique Appalachian crops for future generations to enjoy.
We have been featured in The Crossroads, Salt Magazine and Seed Savers' Heritage Farm Companion, quoted inCapper's Farmer Magazineand included inMother Earth Newsas an heirloom seed supplier.
